16" x 13" (41 x 33 cm). Presented upon a red velvet tufted cushion is a splendid coronet of wax orange blossoms and other Springtime flowers featuring four rows of different petals and buds capped by a bountiful cluster of wax orange blossoms that covers the entire head. The cushion is supported by a metal frame that is richly decorated with 22-karat gold-plated symbols including dove with wreath of harmony, eight fern fronds symbolizing protection in the home, and four bouquets of various flowers, one oval mirror as good luck, and two triangular mirrors signifying fertility. The entire arrangement is on an oval ebony-finished base with red velvet tufted carpet, and protected by a blown glass dome, and is beautifully preserved. French, circa 1890.
