21" x 13" (54 x 33 cm). An elaborate gold-plated presentation features a fancifully framed scrolled mirror with painted blue bird and daisies centered by two shield-shaped mirrors, all encircled by a richly embellished frame, and forming the background for a blue silk covered cushion upon which rests the bride's wax orange blossom corsage and a wedding photograph of the young bride and groom. There are a total of seven mirrors, in a variety of four different shapes. The gold-plated decorations include two doves with wreaths of harmony, fifteen marguerite daisies, and fifteen strawberries in a cluster of leaves. Hand-embroidered lace from the bride's veil is arranged around the edge and a sample of the groom's beaded embroidery is stitched to the front of the cushion. The particular style of embroidery and gilded strawberry symbols are indicative of Brittany. The entire arrangement sits upon an oval wooden base under a blown glass dome. French, circa 1900.
