The tortoiseshell box with gilded oval pop-up lid in the center top features a richly filigree gilded design with a bird-shaped outline for the feathered bird to rest when not in play. The bird is covered in vibrant feathers. The bird calls are varied and there appear to be three or four different calls. Movements: The bird turns from side to side and the wings are animated.
