Description
A walnut case with original dragon red interior finish houses an 11" cylinder and 114 note single-piece comb. Six tunes are played, although the tune program card is lacking. The original cylinder pinning is very good as is the quality of the comb, and the box plays bright lively arrangements. The works are engraved BB&Cie with serial number 22464.
Historical References: Berens, Blumberg & Cie were agents, most often representing the works of musical box maker Francois Charles Lecoultre of Geneva who was likely the maker of this box. lecoultre made musical boxes from 1801-1840.
