Housed in a handsome walnut case with columned door, decorative fretwork, and coin drawer, the musical box operates from an English penny and is in pristine playing condition with a wonderful sound. It has eighteen 15" discs.
Historical References: Polyphon was a major supplier of coin-operated musical boxes for the English Market, where the instruments were installed in hotels, taverns, seaside pier amusements, and other public places. They proved to be a grand money-maker for their proprietors. Circa 1900.
