Description
A heavy gold-plated box with richly embossed scroll decorations over all sides and top, has an oval pop-up lid in the center of the top that is decorated with two winged birds. When wound and lever released, a brilliantly feathered bird pops up from his filigree bed with cut-out bird shape. The bird turns from side to side, fluttering its wings and tail feathers, and opening and closing its mouth. The bird trills, chirps and sings. There is a bird-shaped brass key. Circa 1950.
