Description
Encased in a Cuban mahogany frame with inlay striping and little shaped feet, the musical box has an 8" brass cylinder and is labeled with serial number 10593. The clock base had a particularly pleasing function, designed to be placed beneath a clock, thus, transforming a non-musical clock into one of music as well as adding an extra element of decoration. The music in this example is particularly melodious, rich and strong. Circa 1830.
