The doll is marked SFBJ Paris.

Historical References: The maker is unknown, although the automaton does have a signed Vichy motor. The theme appears to be patriotic, and perhaps the piece was created during the WWI era (the period of manufacture of the doll's head) as a patriotic gesture.
