Description
Standing upon a velvet-covered wooden base is an
adult lady
with amber tinted bisque head having unique
sculpting that was
used for this model only, brown glass eyes,
closed mouth,
original upswept brunette mohair wig, carton
torso and legs,
amber tinted bisque forearms, holding a teapot in
one hand, and
a tray with cups in the other. She wears her
original elaborate
silk kimono designed by Eugenie Lambert. The
automaton has
five movements: she lifts the tea pot, turns her
wrist as though
to pour tea, extends the tray with her other
hand, while
alternately nodding head, and turning from side
to side. Music
plays. There is an attached Lambert (without
initials) key.
Leopold Lambert, France, circa 1890. 20_.
