15" (38 cm.) The finely-crafted roll-front cabinet desk is of finely-grained rosewood with ebony edging, and features a pull-out desk surface with leather writing panel, four pencil drawers, other small drawers, two roll-front cabinet doors, and three lower full-width drawers with bone knobs, each with dove-tailed construction. The cabinet is accented by two gutta percha figurals. Excellent condition. Continental, possibly French, early 19th century, the intricate construction indicates its creation as a maitrise model.
