Description

28". Poured wax portrait doll depicting Greta Garbo, her head haughtily tilted upward, slender face with strong chin and cheek bones, elongated neck, female-shaped wax torso, jointed long slender legs, arms fabric-jointed at shoulders; oil- painted eyes, inserted mohair lashes and painted eye decoration, richly shaded lips, light brown human hair, wearing original red taffeta gown with black lace overlay decorated with hand-painted designs and silver stars, lace embroidered scarf, rhinestone necklace, earrings, and ring, undergarments, black shoes. With original certificate "Greta Garbo, Camille, Third Edition #2/40, June 1988, Paul Crees", along with various brochures by the artist, several magazine articles described the English artist's work. Drawing upon his background in London theatrical design, and inspired by the 19th century English wax artists Pierroti and Montanari, Paul Crees has created a very limited number of his masterpiece works.
