20" (51 cm.) Poured wax shoulderhead with rosy complexion depicting a plump-faced child, small blue glass inset eyes, lightly-defined eyeliner and brows, rounded nose with accented nostrils, closed mouth with row of tiny painted teeth, blonde hair inserted into scalp, original softly-stuffed muslin body, pink-tinted wax lower arms and legs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Hamley's 64 Regent Street, London (stamp on torso). Comments: the doll was presented in the prestige British doll emporium of Hamley's, circa 1865. Value Points: very rare wax doll with wonderful expression achieved by chubby double row of chin and dainty painted teeth, original body, and original layered costume and shoes.
