Description
14". Very soft kidskin leather doll with separately stitched face onto leather head dome, whitened complexion with artfully painted facial features, brown eyes, eye shadow, shaded lips, white mohair fleeced wig, intricately stitched all-leather body with tri-color leather, wearing original homespun smock with laced shoulders, signed "BS 86" on the neck. The doll was made by German artist Beate Schult in 1986. The doll was artfully conceived in intricate leather patterns and designed to be displayed with or without the artist-made clothing. The series by this artist also included a black boy and an Asian boy.
