14" (36 cm.) One-piece bisque figure of seated child with head tilted to the side, bare feet with crossed ankles, blue side-glancing painted eyes, rose eye shadow, brushstroked brows, closed mouth with smiling expression, blonde sculpted hair in tousled curls, modeled and painted smock, arms posed expressively. Excellent condition. Germany, attributed to Hertwig, circa 1890. Wonderful painting on the rare large figure.
