27". Wax over porcelain swivel head depicting an older child with elongated throat and face, blue glass inset eyes, painted features with slightly upturned nose and delicate freckles, closed mouth, brunette mohair curly wig, muslin body, waxed arms and legs, bent knees designed for sitting, posed curled toes of bare feet, wearing artist made hand-painted dress with smocking and lace bretelles, cotton one-piece undergarment, signed Resli 100/87. The German doll artist began her career in fashion design, and began creating porcelain dolls in the early 1980's. Soon thereafter she introduced the medium, wax-over-porcelain, in which she was able to best express the ephemeral beauty of youth.
