Description
13" (33 cm.) Carved wooden socket head with carved hair in combmarked waves across the forehead and back of head, partially sculpted ears, intaglio dark blue eyes with prominent black pupils and white irises, closed mouth with pouty expression, all wooden five piece patented "walkable" body with unique hinged movement that allows the doll to "walk". Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (original label on torso). Comments: an identical doll, described as a possible special order, is shown in Corson's Schoenhut Dolls, A Collector's Encyclopedia, page 163. Value Points: superb original condition of the rare patented model, wonderful facial and hair carving and finish.
