21" (53 cm.) Paper mache shoulder head with oval-shaped face, very elongated strong throat, slight modeling of bosom, black sculpted hair arranged with two shaped ringlet curls in front of each ear, center-part with hair pulled into elaborately arranged chignon, sculpted ears, black glass inset eyes, tinted brows, aquiline nose, closed mouth, slender kid body with shapely waist, wooden arms and legs, painted shoes, nicely costumed in antique fabrics. Condition: very good, some typical paint rubs and lines, slight early touch- up on hair above ringlet curls, finish worn on shoes. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: very beautiful lady with glass eyes, ornate coiffure, wonderful sculpting of throat and breast plate.
