Description

16" (41 cm.) Pink-tinted poured wax shoulder head, small blue glass inset eyes in half moon shape, brown eyeliner, inserted brown hair, brows and moustache, strong nose with accent dots, closed mouth, sculpted ears, muslin torso and upper limbs, wax lower limbs. Condition: very good. Marks: Hamley's 24 Regent Street Doll Repair (torso). Comments: in the Pierotti manner, a series of English military figures from the Boer War including General Roberts and General Kitchener were made by the firm at the end of the 19th century; this appears to be from that series although his name is unknown. Value Points: handsome wax gentleman with beautifully detailed beard and moustache, store label, wearing his original costume with appropriate decorations.
