Description

13" (33 cm.) Pressed bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, blue glass enamel inset eyes with spiral threading, painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, open mouth, outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid gusset-jointed bebe body, bisque hands to below the elbows, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, the very first model of Bebe Teteur made with Brevete model face and ivory turning knob; this model was made for one year only in 1879. Value Points: rarity of the early Bebe Teteur is rivaled by its appealing presence, lovely bisque, original body.
