16" (41 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, almond shaped blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes and delicately feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with smiling expression on the pale accented lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, kid gusset jointed body with square-cut collarette, antique silk and woolen costume, undergarments, leather ankle boots marked B for Bru. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: E. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1872 in which year he deposed the smiling facial model, presumably a portrait of Empress Eugenie. Value Points: beautiful poupee with sturdy body, choice bisque.
