16" (41 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, almond shaped pale blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French kid gusset- jointed body with square-cut collarette. Condition: generally excellent, body very sturdy. Marks: E (head and shoulders). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, his smiling model poupee deposed in 1872. Value Points: very beautiful bisque and painting, original wig decorated with pearls, beautiful (albeit a bit frail) antique gown with elaborate bustle of fine tulle, silk and muslin dotted with rose puffs.
