8" (21 cm.) A paper mache pig with painted finish and well detailed eyes and snout has hinged legs, and internal mechanism; riding upon the pig is a bisque-headed man with unusual sculpted and painted long sideburns and hair fringe, glass inset eyes, closed mouth, wooden block torso and legs, antique costume, when wound, the pig should bounce up and down and the man waves his arms as though urging the pig on. Condition: generally excellent, mechanism needs adjustment. Comments: French, circa 1890. Value Points: amusing toy, featuring doll with rare sideburns.
