13" (33 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, ears pierced into head, blonde mohair wig, stretched-twill-over- wooden body with bisque forearms, neatly sculpted hands, dowel-jointing at elbows, hips and knees, shapely torso. Condition: generally excellent, twill a bit dusty, left thumb restored. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1875. Value Points: rare early doll with beautiful pale bisque contrasting the brilliant blue eyes, rare original body, costume included.
