Description

21" (53 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows with "fly-away" detail, open mouth, outlined lips, two porcelain upper teeth, blonde mohair bobbed wig, composition bent limb baby body, beautiful antique organdy baby gown, knit booties. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1294 c. made in Germany 9 55. Comments: Franz Schmidt, circa 1915, the doll has mechanical clockwork in head which, when wound from lever at back of head, causes the doll's eyes to flirt from side to side, over and over again. Value Points: appealing doll with original wig, body, choice bisque, great sculpting, is enhanced by the rare surprise mechanical movement that is hidden when not in use.
