13" (33 cm.) Pale bisque shoulder head of adult lady with slender face and elongated throat, blonde sculpted hair captured under painted green snood and decorated with white feather and purple luster plume, painted bright blue eyes with black upper eyeliner, painted lower lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, muslin stitch-jointed body, leather arms, wearing beautiful antique satin and tulle gown. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: attributed to Alt, Beck and Gottschalk, circa 1870, the model portrays the French Empress Eugenie. Value Points: very fine detail of facial painting, elaborate coiffure and decorations.
