21" (54 cm.) Honey-tinted wax over paper mache shoulder head, blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, closed mouth with tinted lips,blonde mohair wig in elaborate original coiffure of braids and ringlet curls, muslin body with wax over paper mache arms from above the elbows, paper mache lower legs with painted green ankle boots. Condition; generally excellent. Comments: probably Heinrich Stier, Sonneberg, circa 1865, whose wax dolls were described as "exceeding the beauty of all others". Value Points: very beautiful doll with superb wig, original body, original (frail) aqua silk dress.
