18" (46 cm.) Paper mache bulldog with well-defined textured finish and musculature, painted cream and black finish, black ears, brown glass eyes, ruff and leather studded collar with chain leash, tiny hidden wheels for pull-along movement; his hinged jaw opens when the chain leash is pulled, revealing ferocious teeth and causing the bulldog to growl. Very good condition, original finish. French, late 19th century.
