14" (36 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head with pink-tinted complexion portraying a young lad, brown sculpted hair in short pageboy style with thick brush of hair onto the forehead, well-detailed sculpting of facial features, painted large bright blue eyes, red eyeliner, closed mouth, accent dots at eye corners and nostrils, early muslin stitch- jointed body with original porcelain lower arms and hands. Condition: generally excellent, paint rub on nose, paint flake on hair. Marks: 1/3 (impressed) (KPM red orb mark, and KPM blue sceptre mark, inside shoulder plate). Comments: KPM, circa 1835, the exact doll is shown in Coleman's Encyclopedia of Dolls, page 366. Value Points: rare signed early model with very expressive handsome features, original body with porcelain hands, original linen suit, leather shoes.
