16" (41 cm.) Paper mache shoulder head with oval face, elongated throat, dark brown painted hair looped at sides of face and around sculpted ears to form an elaborate double braid at the back of head held by a decorative comb, painted large brown eyes and facial features, slender kid body with wooden limbs, painted green flat shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: wonderful expression on the brown-eyed lady with rare coiffure, original finish, fine antique costume.
