17" (44 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head with slender oval face, elongated throat, very fancy black sculpted hair with four graduated-length finger curls on forehead at either side of part line, wide poufs behind each sculpted ear, uniform finger curls at back neck captured by a wide comb, painted blue eyes, red and black upper eyeliner, single stroke black brows, aquiline nose, closed mouth, porcelain limbs, painted shoes, antique gown and undergarments. Condition: generally excellent, right hand restored. Marks: 169 (etched inside shoulder plate). Comments: Germany, circa 1870. Value Points: rare coiffure on the adult lady with appealing pensive expression, maker's mark.
