20" (51 cm.) Wax-over-paper mache shoulder head with rounded childlike shape, blue glass sleep eyes, fringed brows, tiny closed mouth, accented nostrils, blonde mohair wig, muslin stitch-jointed body, working bellows crier in torso, paper mache lower limbs, painted white stockings, black heeled boots with white buttons. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1880. Value Points: wonderful state of preservation, beautiful blushed complexion, original ringlet curls and braids, superb antique gown.
