11" (28 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with smiling expression on the accented lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French stretched-leather-over wooden body with dowel articulation at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, bisque forearms, lovely and well detailed antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, body is appropriately sized and of the period, but not original to the doll. Marks: B (head) Depose (forehead). Comments: Leon Casmir Bru, circa 1872,his deposed facial model of smiling lady, believed to be Empress Eugenie. Value Points: wonderful detail of sculpting and painting on the tiny model smiling poupee by Bru, enhanced by choice costume.
