27" (69 cm.) Bisque socket head with long-faced modeling, full cheeks, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner encircles the eye sockets, painted lashes, thick brush stroked brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the shaded and outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, early composition and wooden eight-loose-ball- jointed body with plump limbs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: S 8 H 939. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1890. Value Points: beautiful early doll with lovely face, fine early body, wearing superb antique lace dress and silk bonnet.
