Description
25" (64 cm.) Bisque socket head with deeply modeled features, blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted dark lashes, short feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth, shaded and outlined lips, four porcelain teeth, brunette mohair wig over plaster pate, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: K JDK 14 241 (head) Germany 5 (body). Comments: Kestner, circa 1915,the model known as "Hilda's older sister". Value Points: the rarity of the model is rivaled by its very fine sculpting and matte bisque, original wig, pate, body and superb original body finish, wonderful antique costume.
