24" (60 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head with very delicate complexion, plump lower cheeks and chin, high forehead, almond-shaped blue enamel glass inset eyes with spiral threading, dark eyeliner, mauve blushed eye shadow, lightly feathered brows, dark painted short lashes, shaded nostrils of pointy nose, closed mouth with defined space between the shaded outlined lips, blushed pierced ears, dimpled chin and philtrum, brunette human hair hand-tied wig over cork pate, original composition and wooden eight loose-ball-jointed body with very plump lower limbs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 4 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1878. Value Points: very rare and outstanding early portrait bebe with exemplary bisque and painting, most expressive features, original body with fine original finish, beautifully costumed in white muslin dress with peach silk ribbons, undergarments, peach chiffon and silk bonnet, peach silk shoes signed Paris Bebe, rose silk stockings.
