Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, grey glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accent line between the lips,blonde mohair wig over cork pate, hollow molded leather body with dowel jointing at shoulders, elbows, and hips, pin-jointed hips. Condition: generally excellent, lacking its original kid collarette with Clement maker's mark, very sturdy body. Comments: Pierre Victor Clement, the former leather shoemaker, deposed his idea of a lightweight molded hollow leather doll body in 1870 describing it as "the most beautiful, lightest and most rugged made to date". Value Points: very rare deposed model doll is well preserved, and wears a beautiful antique aqua silk gown, undergarments, bonnet, shoes.
