Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, round face, nearly solid dome with impressed outline of wig-shape around the sides and back of head, small cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, tiny painted teeth between the lips, distinctively impressed modeling around eyes and chin, brunette human hair, kid- stretched-over-wood body with unique shape, V- shaped hips, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows and knees, pivot-jointing at mid-thigh, bisque arms nearly to elbow, beautiful antique gown, undergarments, leather boots marked C.C. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: BSGDG (impressed in large letters on back of head). Comments: Leverd & Cie, the body and modeling of scalp based upon his Depose of 1869, made for one or two years only. Value Points: very rare French deposed poupee with unique modeling of head having defined wig placement, and unique body designed for multi-posing; few examples of this doll are known to exist.
