29" (74 cm.) Wax-over-paper mache swivel head on matching shoulder plate, cut pate with wax over-pate, blue glass inset eyes, delicately painted lashes and brows, softly rounded nose, closed mouth, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, commercial muslin stitch-jointed body with waxed paper mache lower arms, paper mache lower legs with applied striped cotton stockings, very fancy painted heeled shoes with gold decorations. Condition: generally excellent, some fading of lip color. Comments: Germany, circa 1875. Value Points: exceptional doll with very rare swivel head, original body with fancy boots, wonderful antique black velvet and silk dress, velvet toque.
