Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, blue glass sleep eyes, dark eyeliner encircles the eye sockets, painted lashes, brush stroked and feathered brows with fine tapered shape, accented eye corners and nostrils of pointy nose, closed mouth with defined space between the shaded and outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over plaster pate, kid body with gusset jointing, bisque forearms. Condition: generally excellent, some body patches but very firm. Marks: 16 X. Comments: Kestner, circa 1885, the doll is known as the A.T. Kestner in reference to its close resemblance to the French bebe A.T. Value Points: very rare doll in superb larger size with outstanding quality of modeling and fine lustrous patina of bisque, wonderful antique costume of white cutwork dress, undergarments, leather shoes, lace and silk ribbon bonnet.
