Description
9" & 16" (23 & 40 cm.) Each is wax over paper mache shoulder head doll with sculpted blonde hair in elaborate roll at crown and pageboy curls at back, enamel glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, closed mouth, blushed cheeks, muslin stitch-jointed body, wooden lower limbs, painted shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1885. Value Points: dear pair with well-preserved original finish and body, the smaller with muslin chemise and pantalets, the larger with well detailed muslin pleated dress.
