Of unusual creamy-complexioned paper mache with lustrous patina, the shoulder head doll has modeled throat hollow and bosom, oval-shaped face, elongated throat, blue glass inset eyes with heavy eyelids, aquiline nose, painted lashes and brows, nostril accent dots, closed mouth with accented lips, brown sculpted hair in center part with loose braids that loop below and behind each sculpted ear forming a coiled braid chignon at the back of the head, slender kid body with wooden lower limbs, black painted shoes,(frail) antique silk gown, undergarments. Condition: very good, original finish well preserved with some typical lines and rubs. Comments: Circa 1837,attributed to Johann Friedrich Muller, the doll portrays Queen Victoria in 1837 at the time of her coronation. Value Points: very rare and beautiful early portrait doll with glass eyes, brown hair, modeled bosom.
