Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Q made in Germany 20 Germany JDK 1914 c. Hilda Ges Gesch N. 1070. Comments: Kestner, circa 1915. The life-size baby is presented in woven basket laid with antique blankets and pillows, and contains within its torso a mechanical device that when activated (electrical) allows the baby to realistically turn its head from side to side and wave its limbs in the air. Value Points: fabulous and rare presentation doll, likely appearing as promotional object in luxury baby boutique, circa 1920, the quality of the doll enhanced by well- functioning mechanism.
