18" (46 cm.) Cotton sateen doll with flat-
dimensional features,die-shaped facial
profile,printed "O" shaped eyes,nose,red outlined
mouth,ears,with wire "curl" in forehead,disc-
jointed arms and legs,chubby toddler
shape,original red shirt and shoes,striped
pants,bow tie. Condition: generally excellent.
Marks: Buttercup,by permission of Jimmy Murphy.
Comments: Buttercup from the comic strip and
films,Toots and Casper,by Jimmy
Murphy,originating in the 1920's. Value Points:
rare early comic character doll is wonderfully
