Bisque socket head with highly characterized facial features, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark painted eyeliner, painted curly lashes, widely arched brush-stroked brows with feathered detail, broad nose with pointy tip, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth modeled as though open with row of four beaded teeth, modeled stuck-out tongue, deeply impressed cheek dimples, philtrum, shaped chin, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 9 (and artist check marks) Jumeau Medaille d Or Paris (head). Comments: Emile Jumeau, from his "series fantastiques" introduced in 1892, this being the model 217. The bebes were created only upon special commission; in the 1899 Jumeau inventory only 11 of the size 9 217 character were in inventory.
