the cover that it contains the "service"
(handwork) of Ernestine M(illegible) in simple
childlike lettering. The 8 interior pages contain
a number of sewing samples for
mending,embroidery,button holes and other
practical needlework,each identified by the child
in her simple handwriting. The journal is a
simple but charming variation of the elegant
cabinet of needlework,#160 of this catalog. Pages
are loose,samples are excellent. French,circa
1865.
