14" (36 cm.) A bisque-headed boy with brown glass
eyes,painted lashes and brows,accented nostrils
and eye corners,open mouth,four teeth,blonde
mohair wig,one piece paper mache torso and right
leg,hinged left leg,composition arms. Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: Fabrication Francaise
A.L.& C. Limoges (doll) (illegible stamp on metal
plate on scooter). Comments: circa 1915,the boy
is posed upon a wooden scooter with cast iron
wheels and interior mechanism; when wound he
rapidly scoots along,wheels turn,head turns.
Value Points: delightful mechanical toy with
bisque doll,original cerise silk sailor style
costume.
