Description
28" (71 cm.) h. 18" w, 7"d. The tall cabinet with arched crest features double doors opening to shelved interior and three lower drawers, and is constructed of fine satinwood with elaborate marquetry inlays of urns, flowers and exotic birds. The inside edge of the top drawer is inscribed Edwards & Roberts. Excellent condition. English, mid-1800s, the firm located at 21 Wardour Street in London was noted for their outstanding cabinetry and this present example, a rare miniature size may have been created as an exhibition model.
