Description
19" (48 cm.) Soft felt doll head with pressed and
painted facial features with embroidered detail
of downcast eyes,angled brows,stuck-up nose,red
lips,red yarn hair,cotton sateen body with spread-
apart fingers,elongated legs. Condition:
generally excellent,slight dust. Comments: circa
1920,a number of French artists designed dolls
during the Renaissance of the French Doll
movement in that era,and many were exhibited at
the Village of Toys exhibition,including very
similar dolls by Paderewski. Value Points: with
impudent-faced doll is imaginatively
designed,well-preserved,wears original silk and
net dress,silver metallic embroidered cap.
