Description
17" (44 cm.) Bisque socket head portraying an
elderly man with impressed wrinkles outlined in
red,thick bushy-sculpted grey brows,long pointy
nose,grey glass inset eyes with short painted
lashes,closed mouth in benevolent smile,white
mohair wig and beard,composition and wooden fully-
jointed body. Condition: generally excellent.
Marks: S 8 Germany. Comments: Cuno and Otto
Dressel,the same model was used for their doll
presented as Uncle Sam,from their historical
series,circa 1900. Value Points: unusually large
example of the highly characterized doll,with
excellent bisque and painting,original costume.
