Description
21" (53 cm.) A bisque head doll with glass eyes, blonde mohair wig, open mouth, four porcelain teeth, dimpled chin, wearing original silk costume and hat is seated on a maple wood chair behind a matching pedestal table which is spread with tea and desserts. She holds a teacup in her right hand and dangles a ball from her left hand. When wound, she turns and nods her head and blinks her eyes, taps her foot, then lifts and lowers ball which the kitten springs back and forth trying to catch, while music plays. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1300-6 Halbig SH (doll) L.B. (key). Comments: Leopold Lambert, circa 1890. Value Points: delightful actions enhanced by strong music in the rare automaton.
